FPS Fall Festival 2014

It's that time of year again...time for the school fall festival.  The school always does a great job of hosting this event, and this year was no exception.

This was their favorite part of the festival...the game truck

Pictures, Preying & Pirates

Today was a busy day in the Sandidge house - school pictures, feeding the preying mantis and national "talk like a pirate day".
so handsome
Cooper said he was the most handsome boy in his class!

When I picked the kids up from after school, Reagan had found a grasshopper that she said would be perfect to give to the preying mantis.  So, I caught the grasshopper and carried it home for the mantis' dinner.
it must have been super-yummy
the kids enjoyed the "epic battle"
I have much better, longer, more graphic videos...but they're too large to upload

Today was national "Talk Like a Pirate" Day and in honor of that, Krispy Kreme was giving away a dozen donuts if you came dressed like a pirate.  One family in our small group did and brought 4 dozen donuts to our Bible study!!
Arrgh!  These are so delicious!

Parent / Teacher Night

Tonight was parent/teacher night for the 1st grade at Cooper's school.  The teacher discussed what we can expect from her class and what the kids will be learning this year.

No Jitters

Cooper was super cool about going to school this morning!  He wanted me to walk with him to his class so he could show me that he remembered how to get there!  He did great!  Not one misstep!

1st Day of 1st Grade

Cooper said he had a fun first day of school.  He was so excited to show me his work from the day!

Meet the Teacher 2014

Today was meet the teacher day for both kids.  Cooper's school held theirs first.  He acted a little shy when meeting his teacher, but made himself at home exploring the classroom.
Three days until he's an official 1st grader!

Later in the afternoon, we went to Reagan's school to meet her 4th grade teacher.  Reagan knows a few kids in her classroom, so that helped ease the nerves (a little)!

1st Grade Memories

Cooper and I were able to spend part of the day with Reagan on her last day of 1st grade.  It was so fun to see how much she has matured over the past year.

They were signing yearbooks when we arrived
most of the kids asked Cooper to sign their yearbooks too
 Reagan and Ms R
we also ate lunch with Reagan
Cooper ate his lunch, some of mine, and a little bit of Reagan's too!
after lunch, there was a cookie cake in celebration of a classmate's birthday
 Ms R's 1st grade class 2011-2012
finally, it was time for recess!
Reagan had a great 1st grade year.  She has excelled in every subject and has become an avid reader.  We although we'll miss 1st grade and Ms R, I can't wait to watch Reagan grow next year!
