Play -N- Skate

We started the day off playing at the church's playground.  After church, we had lunch with our Bible study group and then on to ice skating practice.

another great day to play on the playground
Today was skills evaluation day.  The skaters were tested to see if they had learned the skills necessary to move up to the next level.
getting measured - Reagan should be able to glide backwards on one foot the length of her body
She did it!!!  Next skating session, Reagan will move up to the Basic 3 class!!!
Public skating session
skating is so much fun!
We are so proud of Reagan and all that she's learned in skating in such a short time!

Student of the Week

Cooper was his class's Star Student of the Week last week.  Each of the kids drew a picture and wrote something "nice" about Cooper, he took in several pictures of himself to show the class, and he had to fill out a "fun fact" sheet about himself.

Terrific Kid

Reagan was recognized as a "Terrific Kid" at her school today.  Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance. “Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.  We are so proud of Reagan!
this was the invitation to the program.
None of the kids knew they were getting this award.  They were called over the intercom to come to the Media Center.
When she came into the media center, she said over and over, "so, what does this all mean?"  She had no idea she was getting an award.
Only 2 kids per class are given this award each 9 week ~ it's a real honor
 Receiving her award
Daddy couldn't have been more proud of his girl
her certificate ~ we also got a bumper sticker that she can't wait to put on the van!

Season's End

Tonight was the end of Reagan's 2012 soccer season.  A local restaurant provided a BBQ for all of the families as a celebration of the season.  Reagan had a great year playing soccer and she was sad to see it end.

Reagan wore a headband to school today and Cooper wanted to be "just like Reagan"!
Reagan's new "trick" is picking Cooper up and carrying him across the room
Cooper enjoyed his hot dog at the BBQ
Reagan was not into pictures tonight
 Go Blaze!
 in the mix of things
 Go Reagan
It was a good game, but the Blaze was handed their 3rd loss of the year 3-2 ~ our coach's daughter scored one for the other team:(
after the game, Coach Matt handed out awards and trophies
Reagan received the "Most Spirited Player" award.  Her coach said she was always in a good mood and was always cheering on and encouraging her team.
 checking out her certificate
 just precious
Reagan gave her coach a card ~ she wrote on the inside that he was "the best coach a girl could ever have".

I think her cheeks hurt from smiling about her awards!
