Father's Day 2.0

We continued our Father's Day celebration today by making cupcakes.  Reagan had bought the mix last week and planned to make cupcakes over the weekend, but our busyness got in the way.  She couldn't wait another day to make them for her dad!
Ready to begin
 mixing with care
Reagan kept a careful eye on Cooper just to make sure...
 batter's mixed ~ Cheers!
licking the batter ~ a tradition
 Reagan iced the cupcakes...
...while Cooper couldn't wait for the icing to eat them.  He said they were muffins and didn't need icing!
add sprinkles and you're all done
Greg requested chocolate on one of his cupcakes
Cooper wanted to try his hand at icing my cupcake
or maybe he just wanted to try the icing!
 Happy Father's Day again!
Reagan laughed at Greg saying "yum" and "mmm"

Great Cake Bake 2013 - Celebrity Edition

After World Thinking Day, Reagan and I attended the Great Cake Bake 2013 at Neyland Stadium with Kayti and her mom.  Kayti's mom had entered the contest and we went to support her and see all the amazing cakes on display.  Somehow, I managed not to take a single picture of the cakes!
the girls got to decorate their own cupcakes

And look who ended up on the cover story for the local newspaper!!! You can read the online story here.
If I'd known I was having my picture made, I would have sucked in my gut and smiled a little more!!  I'm concentrating very hard on that cake!

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Heart Day 2012!  The kids started out the morning with Valentine gifts left at the table and a "hearty" breakfast.

Cooper started in the half-day program at school yesterday.  He will only be going on Mondays and Wednesdays, but his teacher asked if he would like to come to their party today.  Cooper is always up for a party!!

Here he is with some of his new friends

After Cooper's party, we went to the grocery store, had lunch and he took a nap!  Cooper decided to make a special desert for the family tonight, so we baked cupcakes ~ he chose "Funfetti"!

Cooper wanted to let Reagan help him put the frosting on the cupcakes ~ so we waited until she got home from gymnastics and they went for it!

a taste test is always needed!

so proud of his project today
she was glad Cooper waited on her to finish the cupcakes
Hope you had a great Valentine's Day too!
