Freedom

The cast is off!! We went yesterday and Dr. Peckman said Reagan has lots of new bone growth and he is pleased with how well she has healed. Reagan was a little nervous about getting the cast taken off. Greg and I never told her that it was going to be "cut" off, but someone at school must have. Before the nurse took off the cast, Reagan kept saying, "Don't cut it off, it's not safe. It's not safe!" Considering that Reagan is 3 and she had a very loud saw coming at her, she did exceptionally well.

Let the cutting begin
Prying the cast open
Reagan said her cast was breaking like an egg
She can't believe it's gone! Reagan had to wear an apron to get xrays takenHere's our souvenir Reagan got a princess necklace for being such a brave girl (she also got a pink milkshake, but I couldn't drive and take pictures of that too!) She still holds her arm like it has a cast on it ~ she didn't want to get her arm wet in the bathtub

Olympic Parade

In honor of the 2008 Olympics, Cooper & Reagan's school put on a parade today. They asked that all of the children wear red, white or blue. Here are a few photos from the morning.

Cooper and his ever-present smile

A big grin

Piano Playing

What's old is new again!! Reagan saw a picture of her playing the piano at Christmas 2006 and asked to get it back down from the attic. It's nice to have "new" toys again without spending any money!
Playing beautiful music
Cooper had to join in on the fun too
She's serious about playing the piano Not sure if she's helping him pick out a toy or trying to keep him from getting "her stuff"And now, a song by Reagan

SuperHero

This is just the sweetest video. Mamaw & Papaw Carpenter sent Reagan some "get well" money for her broken arm, so I went and bought her a Hillsong Kids DVD. I figured if she can learn all the words to songs in the cartoons, she can learn songs about Jesus too. Anyway, here is Reagan singing SuperHero. Once she noticed the video camera was on her, she quietened her singing voice and didn't do the motions to the song quite as much. But, it is still sweet none the less. You may need to turn up your volume to hear Reagan sing.

This is the DVD we bought. It is phenomenal. Reagan learned the words and the motions within a couple of days. These worship leaders really know how to get the kids to worship along with them.

When I Grow Up

Reagan has really been into playing dress up over the past few weeks. Today, she can't decide if she wants to be a princess or a doctor.

Notice the high heel shoes with socks...maybe she should stick with being a doctor. Reagan decided to practice her skills on me. She takes my blood pressure and checks my ears
By the way, Greg & I have both decided that we are in the wrong profession. We received the bill from the orthopaedist today and to put a cast on (which by the way is considered surgery even though the bone didn't need resetting...who knew) that took all of 15 minutes cost us almost $1,000. Thank the Lord for good insurance as our part is only $57

Picnic Party

Unbeknownst to me, I happened to be shopping on Tax Free Weekend, so I picked up a few items that Reagan needed (OK, not really needed, but I thought she would enjoy). And, I probably saved $0.64 ~ can't beat that with a stick!!!

I bought Reagan a lunch box of her very own to take to school when they have picnic days
So, we decided to break it in and have a picnic in the living room for dinner last night
Cooper joined us for the picnic and ate his dinner on the blanket too
Trying out a sippy cup
Look ma, I can do this with one hand!
What is up with his hair?
Cooper is becoming a pro at pulling himself up - the problem is he can't stay standing for very long and that frustrates him to no end!

Reagan at Play

Reagan is not letting a little thing like a cast stop her from doing what she wants to do!

She loves to make cakes for all of us
She can jump on the trampoline AND eat M&Ms a the same time
The bag lady taking her baby to WalMart
Now, they're headed to the beach!

Super Saturday

I know this is a ton of pictures for one entry, but we had so much fun today, I couldn't decide on which pictures to include. Trust me, there are a ton of pictures that didn't get uploaded. We started the day by going to Bojangle's to eat breakfast (after a stop at McDonald's so Reagan could have some pancakes). Then we went to the park for some family fun!

Cooper's 1st time in a restaurant high chair
Cooper was the entertainment at breakfast

Cooper's 1st time in the swings at the park

Look at his hair blowing in the wind!
Reagan had a great time showing Cooper how high she could swing
Push me higher, higher
Whee
So much fun!

How do you go from this....

To this?

Reagan wants Cooper to have as much fun as she is

Friday Fun

TGIF...Today was beach day in Reagan's class. They've been learning about the ocean all week, so today, they all got to bring their bathing suits, sunglasses, hats and towels and play in the ocean at school. She continued the theme at home too!

Ready for the beach...except for the cast
Play time with Cooper
Reagan can make Cooper laugh like no one else
More laughter from Cooper
Let's go play!

Blowing bubbles Drawing with chalk
Ready for his 1st ride in a big boy stroller
Reagan wanted to push her baby just like mommy. And she walked the entire neighborhood!
Checking to make sure her baby is alright.

No Problem

Reagan seems to be handling her broken wrist like a champion. She's having no trouble doing everything she did before "the accident". She was a rock star at school yesterday, showing off her purple cast to all the kids and teachers. And as you know, she just eats up attention!!

Eating left handed...no problem
Riding her tricycle...no problem
Playing in the secret garden...no problem acting like a baby to get more attention...no problem
