Pony Party and a Dune Buggy

Reagan attended the birthday party of one of her friends from school today.  It was a Pony Party held at a local farm.  She had a blast!

Itty Bitty City

Yesterday, the 1st grade at Reagan's school had their annual Itty Bitty City.  The kids learn what it's like to work and shop in a city for the day with minimal adult help.  Each child filled out a job application, was interviewed and then given a job.  The city consisted of a bank, drink & candy store, beauty shop, school store, book store, bakery, jewelry shop and grocery store.  After each child completed their "shift", they were given a paycheck that they had to cash at the bank so they could shop.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the city for the day, but Reagan said she had so much fun working and shopping.

here is Reagan's job application listing her qualifications for the Candy Store Stocker position.  The items in red are her answers to the interview questions.

Spring Break 2012 ~ Tuesday

For our 2nd day of Spring Break, we took a little field trip to have lunch with Daddy.  It's an hour drive there and an hour drive back, but it was worth it for the kids to get to spend a little extra time with Greg.

this is the best picture I could get with all of them together ~ believe me, I tried!
 Lunch with daddy is exhausting!

Field Trip

Today, Cooper and I took a little field trip to see Greg at work and have lunch with him.  Cooper was so excited to see his daddy and his tractors!

End of an Era

Where to begin???  Today was my last day of employment with the company I have worked with for the last 11 1/2 years (and loved the majority of the time!).  I began working in the home office in 2000 and was promoted to a sales rep position in 2002.  I was even blessed when we moved to Hickory to be able to transfer into a territory here and keep my job!  I accepted a voluntary layoff that will be effective March 31st.  Crazy, I know.  Who gives up a job with awesome benefits in an economy like this ~ who does that?  Apparently, I did!

Our plan is to move back closer to our families over the summer (once Reagan is out of school here and before school begins there).  We feel as if we are following the Lord's direction in this, but that doesn't mean this is easy or there aren't those "what if" questions.  There are still a lot of things that need to fall into place so we can move and many more things once we get there, but we're trusting the Lord with this one!

Tractor Ride

On the way home from the zoo, we had to stop back by Greg's office to pick up his car.  And a special treat for the kids, Greg took them for a ride on the tractor!

To Work, Doctor & Play

Cooper's school was closed today and he had a follow up doctor's appointment, so he spent the morning at work with me!

here we are at one of my doctor's offices ~ Cooper was a big hit at breakfast!
because he had to get BOTH arms stuck today, Cooper got 2 balloons  (He did great again today, no crying!)
orange for Tennessee of course ~ Go Vols!
I was trying to get a picture of both his arms, but he just wanted to watch cartoons ~ thus the pouty face!
Cooper and I picked Reagan up a little early from school, met our friends and then went to get Greg at his office.  We drove to Columbia, SC and had dinner...
then went swimming at our hotel.  This was the first time Reagan and Cooper had stayed in a hotel.
BIG ADVENTURE IN STORE FOR TOMORROW!
