We're Here!!!

We made it safe and sound to Hilton Head!! After a 5 hour drive and an hour stop at Chick-Fil-A, we're finally at the beach on vacation.

Of course, the first thing we have to do once we get here is to have a snack

The closet in one of the bedrooms was large enough to put Cooper's crib in, so he had his own room too!

Today was an ice cream party for the kids at school. Since the kids couldn't go to the ice cream store, the ice cream man came to them!

Answered Prayers

Today, I had two major prayers answered. The first was for my papaw Carl (who is 83) ~ he had fallen a few weeks ago, but thought nothing of it until last week when he lost the use of his arms and legs. After a CT scan, they discovered he had blood building on his brain and he would need surgery to remove it. Two hours and 2 holes drilled in his skull later, a quart of blood was removed from his brain. He'll be in ICU for a couple of days and then on to a regular room for a few more days. The doctors said he came through the surgery fine and should be back to "normal" in a couple of weeks.

The second answer to prayer was for my friend Crystal. She and her husband Bryan have been trying to have a baby for a few years and today baby Alex was born. He weighed 9lbs and was 21 inches long. Congratulations...I know Cooper will be glad to have a partner in crime in a few months!!
God is so good and we are so blessed!

Happy Memorial Day

The weather didn't cooperate with us today ~ the original plan was to go to Ms Beth's house for an afternoon of swimming (I thought it would be good to get the kids into some sort of water this year before heading to the beach), but it was rainy and/or overcast all day. So, Reagan and Greg went on a date/errand running and Cooper and I stayed at the home front and did some cleaning and messing it all up again! The sun did finally come out around 4pm, so we broke out the water ball that mamaw and papaw Carpenter sent to Reagan and Cooper a few weeks ago.

Getting close...not too sure about it
Cooper's checking it out too
Let's get wet!
Aiming the water at those of us on dry land!
Cooper is NOT having fun
She rolled the ball all over the back yard

"come on Cooper"
If I carried him, he loved it (when he walks around it, the water hits him square in the eyes). Click on the picture to see the big grin on his face!
I didn't plan on getting wet, oh well!

Splashing in the puddles was almost as much fun
Isn't she just the cutest thing?
Can't have Memorial Day without another cook out

He loved being able to feed himself ~ almost as much got into his belly as got on the table, floor, etc
What's a cook out if you don't have ice cream to go with it?
