Weekend Fun

After being in Dallas all week for a meeting, then getting home after midnight Thursday night/Friday morning ~ I had to work at least a half day on Friday. So I was able to get home by 12:30pm and spend some much needed quality time with Reagan and Cooper.

Reagan asked me and Gigi to put on our bathing suits and get in the pool with her. So we did!

Cooper was napping while the girls were in the pool. When he woke up, he wanted to take care of the baby.

While Cooper was having a snack, Reagan and Greg were doing the weekly grocery shopping. When they returned, Cooper and Reagan hugged like they hadn't seen each other in forever! It was so sweet!

While I Was Gone...

...Reagan, Cooper, Gigi & Bubba had a wonderful week of playing and spending time together. While not many pictures were taken in my absence, a great time was had by all. They went to the Science Center to see "Smiley" (Reagan's favorite stingray):went to Greensboro to Gigi's niece's, Jane, house to swim and play with Jane's granddaughter Hailey (and let me add, Reagan learned how to "shut her mouth, hold her nose and go under the water" all by herself); they had a field trip to the mall to ride the carousel and play at the indoor playground; and last but not least they went to the park to swing and slide.

Monday...Again

Today is the only day Reagan and Cooper will be going to school this week. Gigi and Bubba are coming to visit and help Greg while I go to Dallas for a business trip.

We went to church this morning, then home for lunch and naps. After naps we played, had dinner then played until time for bed.

Reagan and Greg had their date this morning at the usual Saturday spot ~ the IHOP. Greg said she was a very good girl and ate 4 pancakes all by herself!!

Tuesday's Treat

Tonight, Greg and I gave Reagan and Cooper each a toy for having good behavior the past week at home and school. This is a special treat for them because it doesn't happen very often.

Dupuytren's Contracture

Big name for an aggravating problem. Basically, Greg's hand won't straighten out to where he can lay it flat on a table. This is a slow process that we first noticed about 12 or 13 years ago. But the doctor back then gave us a pamphlet and said when it gets bad enough, then you'll do something about it. Apparently, Greg has had enough!

We went to an orthopedic hand surgeon on Friday and Greg has surgery scheduled for Wednesday, August 26th at noon. Recovery should be gross (he'll have an open wound for about 4 weeks because there isn't enough skin to close it up), and relatively quick if Greg does the required physical therapy.

Although we're not looking forward to the surgery and recovery ~ I know Greg is definitely looking forward to being able to do all the things he hasn't been able to do in a while. Please keep Greg and Dr. B in your prayers.
