Sunday Supper

The kids and I went to Old McDonald's for dinner tonight (our house was being shown ~ which the people liked, however they decided to go with another house that better suited their needs ~ and Greg was on a hike with a few BAM men). They enjoyed a delicious (although not so nutritious) dinner and playing on the playground.

All smiles and ready to eat
Big bite!
Drinking from a big cup
Good conversation
Sliding down the tunnel
Caught in action
A little dessert for making "happy plates"
offering me a bite of her ice cream
yum!

When we got home, they enjoyed watching cartoons ~ side by side!

Gold Medal Performance

Today, Reagan's gymnastics school had a "Fun Meet" for all of the kids who aren't on the competitive team. The schedule was just like a real meet with 4 events running at the same time (they also did a routine on the tumble track ~ because that is a fan favorite!), and each child doing a routine on each event. The ages ranged from 5 to 15. At the end of the meet, each kid was given a medal and a certificate for participating.

I have the entire gymnastics meet on video if you ever want to watch it!! We were so proud of Reagan. She's only been in the 5 year old class for 3 weeks and has learned so much.

Butterflies

For Reagan's birthday, she received a butterfly habitat, complete with caterpillars. We watched them change from larvae to caterpillars, get into a cocoon and then emerge as beautiful butterflies. We set them free on Friday and then on Saturday saw a couple of them flying around our house. Reagan said that it was so nice for them to come back and visit her!

the container of larvae
once they turned into caterpillars, they climbed to the top of the cup and became chrysalides
We moved the chrysalides into the mesh garden
and one week later, there were 5 butterflies
Reagan and Cooper were so excited to see the butterflies

We watched the butterflies for 5 days before setting them free
Freedom Day!

This butterfly flew around for a few minutes then came back and landed in the bushes before flying off again!
