Easter Preparations

We spent our Saturday as a family with nothing on the calendar and no "to do" list.

we started the day at the mall and let the kids play on the coin operated toys (although I had no coins, they still had fun playing)
 3-2-1, BLAST OFF
they must have played "ice cream delivery" for 30 or so minutes
and, for the shocker of the day, they got their picture made with the Easter Bunny.  No sitting on its lap, but this is the first picture with a holiday character since Cooper was 11 months old!
they were rewarded with bunny ears
they wore them throughout the mall and hopped EVERYWHERE!
after lunch at Chick Fil A, they rode the carousel

once we were home, Cooper and daddy practiced T ball
after dinner, we made Resurrection Rolls ~ while they baked, Greg read the story of Jesus' death and Resurrection
 the tomb is empty!
 He is risen!
 time to dye Easter eggs
 being very gentle

Good Friday

Today was the start of Spring Break for Reagan and Cooper.  We also had a showing on our house, so we needed an activity...off to the Science Center we go.  Reagan didn't get to see the dinosaur exhibit last time we were there and she was very excited to see it today!

She found they toy demetriodon to go with the life size replica
 digging for fossils
 watching the dinosaur movie
 playing in Dino-Land
making silly shadows on the way to the aquarium
the real reason we visit the Science Center ~ the stingrays
petting Smiley
moving on to the exhibits

Reagan's Art

Here are a few pieces of Reagan's artwork that has been sent home from school recently.

the American Flag
she was asked to draw a hot air balloon and write about where she would like it to take her.
Tennessee, Museum, Beach, Dig for Dinosaurs
"I would like to go to the beach.  It is fun to do in the summer.  You can go swimming.  You can jump in the waves.  You can invite your grandparents."
And finally, I know it's close to Easter, but this was sent home from St Patrick's Day.
"What is worth more than gold?  God"
If that doesn't make your heart swell with pride, I don't know what will!

Easter Parties

Both kids had their Easter parties at their schools today.  Unfortunately, I didn't make it to Cooper's party, but he and I were both able to join Reagan at her party.  We even surprised her and ate lunch with her today!!

eating lunch at the "big school"
 Let's get this party started
Shane, Reagan, Cooper, Charlie, and Kensington
 making Easter bookmarks
Cooper joined right in ~ like he'd been in 1st grade all his life!
 playing Easter Bingo
Running the Easter Egg Relay Race
 Cooper joined in that too!
Reagan's team won the relay race
 Cooper's team came in second
 finally, snack time
Greg got off work early today to help me chauffeur kids ~ Reagan had a soccer game at the exact same time as Cooper's t-ball practice.  But due to the rain, both were cancelled ~ so we went to dinner at Salsarita's and had dessert at Rita's!
I caught this sweet moment between father and son
Let Spring Break begin!

Wednesday at Play

We enjoyed a couple of hours playing outside after school today.
