Cinco de Mayo

We had a jammed-packed Cinco de Mayo!  The day started off with a the annual Fun Meet at her gymnastics facility. Then Reagan and I went to Barnes and Noble to use her birthday cookie coupon and buy books.  We ended the evening with a BBQ with our big BAM life group (our life group has multiplied 4 or so times, so all of us got back together for a big cookout).

Being introduced at the meet
warming up for her floor routine
waiting for her turn on the tumble track
when will be out of the fake smile phase
 up next on the bars
 chalking up

Reagan's biggest fans ~ daddy and Cooper
warming up on the balance beam
 Cooper was being g.o.o.f.y. today!
 winning her medal
Reagan did a great job today.  She knew her routines and performed like a champion!
Having a birthday cookie compliments of Barnes & Noble
 love her so much
 playing soccer at the BBQ
 good conversation from the adults
Cooper showed off his batting skills
 dinner time
 Reagan, Cooper, Lexi & Taylor
Duane, Jerry, Julie, Eden & Jessica
Our evening ended on a bittersweet note, as our Pastor announced that he will be leaving our church at the end of the month and headed to a church in a different part of the state.  He will be greatly missed, but we know the Lord has big plans for him in his new church.

Field of Dreams

Cooper's team was back on the field tonight.  The Black Indians played the Red Indians and it ended in a tie (every kid gets the chance to bat and score!).  Cooper played great and chased the ball all over the field!

up to bat ~ Cooper
thumbs up for getting to first base
now he's in the outfield ~ playing 1st base
He did a great job fielding the ball
he made it to 2nd base

he wasn't seeing enough action at 1st base, so they moved him to the pitcher's position
 diving for the ball
 telling his team to HUSTLE
 throwing to 1st base
 good game!

Thursday Activities

Believe it or not, there are very few photos in this post!!

Cooper and I took our daily walk around the neighborhood, but this time it took us almost 2 1/2 hours because he has discovered the camera on my phone and he had to take a picture with every step he took.  Literally, every.step.he.took.  But he had fun and now I have over 500 pictures on my phone of dirt, rocks, flowers and the road!
the Blaze was back in action today after rain cancelled their game on Tuesday.  It didn't turn out too well for the Blaze this time around...they suffered their first loss 4-1.
but, on a positive note, Reagan was as cute as ever!!!

Back Yard Play

We spent a little time playing in the backyard this afternoon.

Reagan was taking a break, but Cooper wanted her to come back outside
he decided he would like to sit under the fan too!

Tuesday Tales

Today was "stay at home day" for Cooper.  We had breakfast, morning lesson and then headed outside to enjoy the weather.  We took a walk around the neighborhood and then spent some time in the backyard playing.

 sweet boy
I asked him to give me his "best smile" and this is what I got!!
 kick
he had to take another break ~ this time for electronics
Just as we were headed out to Reagan's soccer game, it began to storm...so there was no soccer game for the Blaze
Reagan did indulge me and agreed to having a couple of pictures taken

Fun Day Monday

The kids and I decided to make some blackberry ice cream for our treat after supper.

stirring the blackberries
When we got home from school today, the fire department was in the neighborhood testing the fire hydrants.  Reagan and Cooper jumped on their bikes and followed them all around the neighborhood.  I didn't have time to grab my camera, but I did talk Cooper into letting me take his picture in his new fire chief hat!

Itty Bitty City

Yesterday, the 1st grade at Reagan's school had their annual Itty Bitty City.  The kids learn what it's like to work and shop in a city for the day with minimal adult help.  Each child filled out a job application, was interviewed and then given a job.  The city consisted of a bank, drink & candy store, beauty shop, school store, book store, bakery, jewelry shop and grocery store.  After each child completed their "shift", they were given a paycheck that they had to cash at the bank so they could shop.  Unfortunately I wasn't able to go to the city for the day, but Reagan said she had so much fun working and shopping.

here is Reagan's job application listing her qualifications for the Candy Store Stocker position.  The items in red are her answers to the interview questions.
Reagan's name tag for the day!

Free Friday

We typically have Bible Study on Friday nights, but tonight it was cancelled so we spent the night as a family ~ eating pizza, bike rides, walks around the neighborhood, playing in the backyard and watching tv in bed!

going for our ride around the neighborhood
Cooper tripped and fell during our walk and scraped his arm.  He needed a little TLC, a band aid, and to watch a couple of cartoons in our bed with Reagan and all was better!
