End of an Era

Where to begin???  Today was my last day of employment with the company I have worked with for the last 11 1/2 years (and loved the majority of the time!).  I began working in the home office in 2000 and was promoted to a sales rep position in 2002.  I was even blessed when we moved to Hickory to be able to transfer into a territory here and keep my job!  I accepted a voluntary layoff that will be effective March 31st.  Crazy, I know.  Who gives up a job with awesome benefits in an economy like this ~ who does that?  Apparently, I did!

Our plan is to move back closer to our families over the summer (once Reagan is out of school here and before school begins there).  We feel as if we are following the Lord's direction in this, but that doesn't mean this is easy or there aren't those "what if" questions.  There are still a lot of things that need to fall into place so we can move and many more things once we get there, but we're trusting the Lord with this one!

Please pray for us as we begin our transition!

Sunny + Sixty = Repeat

It was another sunny Saturday here in North Carolina!  Greg had to go to work today, so I took the kids to see "Happy Feet 2" this afternoon.  As soon as we pulled in the driveway, the kids asked if they could ride their bikes and play with sidewalk chalk.  Of course they could because it would keep them occupied for a while and burn off a little energy to boot!!

hunkered down and riding fast
 speed racer
strong boy pushing his bike up the driveway
drawing with chalk (helmet is for added protection)
 still riding
 Hop Scotch ~ Game on!
he wants to ride without training wheels so bad, he'll even practice on a pink bicycle!
If he parks at the bottom of the driveway, the back tire just spins when he pedals.  He says this is exercising!
 daddy's home and somebody's happy!
Cooper got to be behind the driver's wheel around the neighborhood
 blurry picture, big smile
Reagan's turn to be the driver
 she was very focused!

Sunny and 65

When you're 4 & 6 years old, the weather is sunny & 65 ~ what else is there to do except play outside?!  I picked Reagan up from school today and she wanted to go and get Cooper immediately so they could play outside while it was "beautiful".

Riding bicycles is always a favorite
he cracks me up how he wears his helmet strap!
we drew a giant fish in the middle of the road and they acted like they were trapped in its belly!
getting a helping hand out of the fish's belly
 playing hide and go seek
 Reagan's turn to count
we made a hop scotch board in the middle of the road
here's a video of the two of them hop scotching!
and finally, we played a game of tag
What a fun afternoon, may we have many more days like this!!

Good Work

Here are some examples of the kids' work over the past few days.

this is Reagan's "I have a dream to be..." speech
"I have a dream to be a teacher.  I will eat a green apple every day.  I hope this is fun.  They will write on the bord (board).  I want to be twenty when I teach class.  I will teach them a lot of stuff.  I will teach secund (second) grade at xxxx xxxx Elementary School.  They will have theer (three) sheets of math.  They will have five sheeets of homework.  I will go to college in Tennessee."

Cooper is now learning the letter "P"
