Party Over Here, Party Over There

Cooper got to celebrate his birthday several times today ~ at school and with our Bible Study friends.  I think he's enjoyed turning 5!

Self Portrait

Cooper's class was asked to draw a self portrait last week.  They will draw another self portrait at the end of the year to see how much they've improved!
Presenting...Cooper
He said he had brown (tanned) legs and spikey brown hair, blue eyes and he likes the color green...that's why his smile is that color!

1st Day of Pre-K

Today was Cooper's first day of Pre-K!  He was very excited about going back to school and making new friends.
he wanted a picture inside the house

 ...with his backpack and sign
...and the full view of his new T-Rex backpack
Cooper had an awesome day.  He even took a nap!!  This boy doesn't meet a stranger and he came home with 2 best friends today.  He doesn't know their names, but they are his best friends!!!

Last Day of Pre-School 2012

Today was Cooper's last day of pre-school for this year.  Since we will be moving in a few weeks, it is also his last day at FBC.  He has had a great year and all of the teachers have been fantastic!
My big boy!
Ms Janice gave him a Certificate of Achievement since he was the only one not graduating from his class.  (all of the other kids will be going to kindergarten, but Cooper's birthdate made him the youngest in this class)
not her last day of school, but she's still pretty enough to take a picture of!!

Cooper's Field Trip

Even though today is not Cooper's "regular" school day, his class was going on a field trip to a local gymnastics center (not the one we attend).  We met everyone there and the class had a great time!

preparing to do a bridge
getting a little help from the coach
 handstands on the wall
 going on the tumble track
 walking on the balance beam
 hanging like a monkey!
 front support
 crawling through the barrel
 swinging on the rope
 the big grin!
 playing in the pit
once we got home, Cooper rode his scooter for the first time since we bought it...last summer!

Sent Home

Here is some school work that has been sent home this week.

This had been hanging in the hallway at school since the beginning of the year and was just sent home today.  The kids in Reagan's class were asked to write what they will do differently this year (a resolution of sorts).
Reagan wrote:  I will be nicer to my brother.  Biy (by) helping.  I'll give (him) stuf (stuff) that he was (wants).

Cooper's class is learning about the letter "Q" this week.  They used Quaker Oats to make an art project.  Cooper made a tractor.  When I picked him us he showed it to me and asked, "Is this a tractor?"  I responded, "yes baby, it's very good."  He then said, "It doesn't look like a tractor!"  I told him, it was "abstract".  He seemed to be ok with that answer.

Double the Homework

Last week, Cooper was moved into a new class at school ~ he's now with the kids who will be in kindergarten with him (I can't believe I just typed that!  In 18 months, my baby boy will be in school.)  They are working on learning their letters.  This week's letter is "O".  And for the first time, he had homework ~ practice writing the letter "O" and color the animals whose name begins with the letter "O".

a boy hard at work
he took his homework very seriously
 precious hands
 such concentration
the finished work - he wrote the "COO" and I helped with the rest of his name.  All the other "Os" on the paper are all his!
He colored the otter, ostrich, and the octopus ~ pink and purple "just for Reagan"
while Cooper worked on his homework, Reagan did some art for Valentine's Day
Sweet Reagan story~
Mom: Reagan, do you know how much I love you?
Reagan: With all your heart!  Do you know how much God & Jesus love us?
Mom: How much?
Reagan: More than you'll ever know!
