Soccer Skills

The weather has been absolutely beautiful here lately, so we're taking full advantage of it.  Reagan's soccer season begins later this month, so we had a little skills practice session this afternoon.  Cooper took it upon himself to be the coach.  He was so sweet to Reagan, telling her things like "you're doing a great job", "nice kick", "that was awesome", and "you're the best player ever".

of course, we have to have snack time before any practice session
Cooper was telling Reagan the rules of soccer
the coach has taken the field
 let the practice begin
 my soccer star
any good coach can also play!
Cooper snuck off for a little more snack!
 Reagan worked hard today!
He wanted to try out the big ball
we had a little fun making shadows on the wall
 cutie Cooper
 ravishing Reagan
 she scored a goal!
no time outside would be complete without the dumptruck
and of course, the field has to be maintained, so the lawnmower must be in proper working condition

Sent Home

Here is some school work that has been sent home this week.

This had been hanging in the hallway at school since the beginning of the year and was just sent home today.  The kids in Reagan's class were asked to write what they will do differently this year (a resolution of sorts).
Reagan wrote:  I will be nicer to my brother.  Biy (by) helping.  I'll give (him) stuf (stuff) that he was (wants).

Cooper's class is learning about the letter "Q" this week.  They used Quaker Oats to make an art project.  Cooper made a tractor.  When I picked him us he showed it to me and asked, "Is this a tractor?"  I responded, "yes baby, it's very good."  He then said, "It doesn't look like a tractor!"  I told him, it was "abstract".  He seemed to be ok with that answer.

End of an Era

Where to begin???  Today was my last day of employment with the company I have worked with for the last 11 1/2 years (and loved the majority of the time!).  I began working in the home office in 2000 and was promoted to a sales rep position in 2002.  I was even blessed when we moved to Hickory to be able to transfer into a territory here and keep my job!  I accepted a voluntary layoff that will be effective March 31st.  Crazy, I know.  Who gives up a job with awesome benefits in an economy like this ~ who does that?  Apparently, I did!

Our plan is to move back closer to our families over the summer (once Reagan is out of school here and before school begins there).  We feel as if we are following the Lord's direction in this, but that doesn't mean this is easy or there aren't those "what if" questions.  There are still a lot of things that need to fall into place so we can move and many more things once we get there, but we're trusting the Lord with this one!

putting up my samples
 lunch with Dr M
Please pray for us as we begin our transition!
