Old & New Friends

This weekend we had some old friends visit us from Texas.  Greg and Dee have known each other practically all their lives.  Dee was in our wedding as was his oldest son Craig.  Dee and his family were in town for Craig's baptism at church, so it was the perfect opportunity to see each other again.  We hadn't seen each other since December of 2006 (Reagan was only 8 months old).  Both of our families have expanded since then!!  We were able to see each other last night for a few hours and then went to church & lunch together today.  The visit was short, but we had a great time.  Greg and I are already planning a trip to Texas to see them again!

Second Grade Backpack

Today was the second day of 2nd grade and although Reagan had her backpack for the first day of school, we failed to get a picture of it.  Actually, I just thought she was super-cute today and wanted to get a picture of her!!

 she picked the backpack & lunchbox out all by herself and said it was "the best one at school.  Nobody has one like it".

1st Day of Second Grade

Today was Reagan's first day of 2nd Grade.  It was the first time in almost 8 weeks that we had to wake with an alarm clock!!!  She got right up and couldn't wait to eat her special request breakfast.

I was so proud of Reagan today.  It has to be hard to walk into a new school where you know no one and don't know where anything is.  My heart was pounding for her.  She did awesome!  She said this was her "best school day ever" and she "just loves her new school and her teacher".

Megan's Graduation

I attended my niece's college graduation this morning.  I was a junior in high school when she was born!!  I'm so proud of her for completing her education.

Meet & Greet

This morning we went to "Meet & Greet" Reagan's 2nd grade teacher.  Mrs. S will be her teacher for the upcoming year.  I think Reagan will really like her, even though she is a bit nervous about starting a new school.  But, she already made a new friend this morning and was invited to a birthday party ~ I think she'll be just fine!  It's cliche, but I can't believe Reagan will be in 2nd Grade!

After visiting Reagan's school, we went to visit Cooper's new pre-school.  His teacher will be Ms L.  Cooper made friends very quickly and played for about an hour while Reagan and I toured Cooper's classroom as well as her after school room.  The program will pick Reagan up after her school day is finished and take her there.  So I only have to go to one place in the afternoons.  And, the two schools are only 5 minutes apart.  When it was time to go home, Cooper didn't want to leave~he begged to stay...I think he'll be really happy there!

After a couple of days being inside because of unpacking, it was time to go outside and get a little exercise!

Cooper has been 'helping' me unpack this week.  He found his cape and decided that he now had super-powers and could run all around the house carrying "very heavy things".

Benefits

One of the benefits of our move is being able to have dinner with family!  After a couple of days of unpacking, we had our first meal in our new home.  My mom and dad came up for a visit and so did Greg's parents and sister.  We hope to host many more "family dinners" in the future.

 

We've Moved

We closed on our new house today!!!  The kids (and we) are super excited to be living closer to family and we can't wait to get settled in.
