Chewing Gum

It was bound to happen. Chewing gum in the hair. Reagan has this new fascination with chewing gum, except that she likes to make balls out of it and play with it rather than chew it. So, we ended up with chewing gum in the hair.

She asked me if we needed to cut her hair off
She doesn't seem too worried about the mess she's caused
Didn't keep her from eating her dinner!
Thanks to the Food Network and the Food Detectives Show, I learned that cooking oil is the best at getting gum out of hair.
See the gum on the towel?

That Crazy Cooper

Here are a few videos of Cooper...being Cooper!

Reagan playing the harmonica and letting (making) Cooper have a turn too!
Cooper's gone mad...until he notices the video camera on him!
He's gone mad again!

Let's Cook

Reagan and I had a busy day of baking and cooking. We made Ms. Newman's famous (to our family) chocolate cake mix cookies and baked spaghetti for dinner.

Reagan can't wait for the cookies to finish baking
Look at the cookies Cooper
Reagan browning the hamburger meat ~ and Cooper wanting to see what's going on.
Time to put the frosting on the cookies
Reagan frosted cookies for mommy, daddy & herself...Cooper can't have one, "He's just a baby". She won't be able to say that for much longer!
Happy Birthday Aunt Kim!
Wish you were here to enjoy these cookies with us

Sunday Picture

I tried to get a new picture of Reagan and Cooper to use as my screen saver on my computer. But alas, my efforts were in vain. For some reason I can't seem to get a picture of them both smiling at the same time. Greg laughs at me every time I try to do this, but I'm not giving up...eventually I'll get a great picture of the two of them!

Take 1
Take 7 Take 11. I'm done for the day!

Saturday Play

The Secret Garden is back!

Filling up the watering can Putting on the gardening gloves
Trying to decide what to work on first
Decided it would be easier without the gloves
Telling the biggest tale I've ever heard!

Cute Reagan story:
Reagan: We get to stay home on Saturday!
Mom: Yes we do, but mom has to go get her hair cut.
Reagan: I want to get my hair cut.
Mom: You do?
Reagan: Yes, I need pink hair.
Mom: Pink hair?
Reagan: Yes, do you want pink hair mommy?
Mom: No
Reagan: No? You want brown hair? I don't like brown hair, it's not my favorite color. I like pink hair. It's my favorite color!

Cooper's Cut

Cooper got his 1st haircut last night. His bangs had been in his eyes for a couple of weeks, but we haven't had a chance to take him anywhere to get them cut. So last night, I got brave and did it myself.

The before (and something to keep him occupied)
Before
And after
I didn't try to cut the sides over his ears, I'll leave that to a professional. It was hard enough cutting what little I did with a wiggle worm moving all around
Greg says I should have left the whole cut to a professional... ...because he looks like Jim Carrey from the movie Dumb and Dumber
What do you expect from a free haircut from an untrained novice? I think I did pretty good considering...

Cooper's New Kicks

Cooper got a new (his 1st) pair of shoes this weekend. With the mornings getting a little cooler, he needs to wear socks, but slides when he tries to take a step. I've become more economical with my 2nd child, realizing that $40 for a pair of shoes is crazy...so I found these knock-off Robeez at Target for $10. That's what you call a bargain!!

Cooper looked like he'd gotten months older the instant we put shoes on him!
Dad even agreed that these were cute shoes (if boy shoes can be cute)
He wears them well, don't you think?
Reagan was very excited about Cooper having new shoes and had a great conversation with him on the way to school this morning:
Reagan: Cooper, I like your shoes. I'm so excited for you to have new shoes. They're very cold.
Mom: What do you mean his shoes are cold:
Reagan: They're cold like my shoes. I like them a lot!
Mom: Do you mean his shoes are cool?
Reagan: Yes, I like his cold shoes!

Volunteer Stampede

Our church had their annual Volunteer Appreciation Day today at Camp Valley Haven. All the volunteers were invited to come and enjoy being waited on by others. A catered lunch was served, as well as ice cream snacks. The Sandidge family however, stayed at the pool the entire time we were there.

Family portrait (later, I did have to donn a bathing suit for everyone to see ~ the things you'll do for your children!)
Cooper testing the waters
He thinks he likes it! Look at his hair blowing in the wind
Reagan brought her ball to the event
Cooper tasted a few sand pebbles and rocks
Going for a big splash
Swimming is so much funCooper enjoyed floating around the pool

8 Years Ago Today...

...I began my career with AstraZeneca. I started out in the Regional Office as an administrative assistant, and after 2 years became a pharmaceutical sales specialist in the Nashville East territory. After 2 1/2 years there, we relocated to Hickory and I now promote Crestor and Nexium in that area.

Thanks Uncle Astra for keeping me around ~ it's been a great 8 years!!
