Conversations with Reagan

Just wanted to capture some of the cute conversations I've had with Reagan over the past few months before they leave my memory.

I was putting on lipstick in the car one morning...
-Mommy, why are you putting on lipstick?
-I want to be beautiful.
-Beautiful like me?
-I could never be as beautiful as you!

Riding home from school one afternoon...
-Are we home yet?
-Yes (sarcastically)
-No we're not.
-Then why did you ask?
-Oh, I'll just wait and ask when we get home!

Reagan's class had been discussing what they want to be when they grow up...
-Mom, why do we have to be something when we grow up?
-Well, you can be a doctor, a teacher, a mommy, or anything you want to be.
-I don't want to be anything, I just want to be a plain ole kid!

We've been having quite a few discussions about heaven lately...
-Why do we go to heaven when we die?
-Because that's where Jesus lives and heaven is perfect.
-I don't want to go to heaven, I like Earth. I'll just stay here.

More heaven discussions...
-Why is heaven better than earth?
-Heaven is perfect, everybody is happy and no one is sick.
-I think earth is good.
-Earth is good like ice cream, but heaven is perfect like ice cream with sprinkles.
-What if I don't want to have sprinkles on my ice cream?

We were having a discussion about having another baby...
-Reagan, would you like another baby brother or baby sister?
-Why would I want that?
-Would you like another baby brother or baby sister to play with like Cooper.
-No, I'm the sister and Cooper's the brother. That's all a family needs.

The Turtle

On the way home from work today, I saw a turtle in the middle of the road. And, in a very unusual move for me (the non-animal person), I turned my car around, picked up the turtle and brought it home. I'm not sure what came over me, but I knew Reagan and Cooper would love seeing a turtle up close and personal.

Here is our new friend
Reagan kept saying, "he's just so cute!"

After a couple of hours of watching him, we decided to let him go so he could find his family. Reagan wanted to play with him a little while longer and thought it was so funny when the turtle walked between her legs.
Looking for his mommy
Reagan is pointing him in the right direction
She kept talking to the turtle telling him he would be ok with his family
We tried to get a picture of Reagan and the turtle, but he wouldn't cooperate!
this is one time she wanted her picture made!

Showing the turtle which way he needed to go
trying to feed him dinner before he went into the woods
Goodbye friend!

After the turtle went into the woods, Reagan kept saying how much she missed him and wanted to see him again. She also wanted to know if the turtle knew her name and if he missed her too!
the things I do for the love of my kids!

A New Chapter

Today began a new chapter in Reagan's life ~ summer camp!!! She's attending gymnastics camp for 7 weeks this summer. They get to do gymnastics, play games and go on three field trips per week. She is so excited to be so "big" and do something that Cooper is too young to do!

Reagan helped supervise Bubba on a project

Pre-School Graduation

Reagan's pre-school class graduated Thursday night. They did a great job performing all of the songs and looked so cute in their caps and gowns. Here are a few pictures from the night.
