Super-Sized Saturday

We had a wonderful, fun and jam-packed Saturday.  We started by riding the 4-wheeler, riding on the boat, going for a swim, cooking out (complete with homemade ice cream), and fishing!

Cooper test driving the boat
Reagan in deep conversation with Bubba
 He is a 4-wheeling machine!
Reagan chasing Cooper for a turn
Cooper had to give Reagan some "structions"
I couldn't believe how much she enjoyed riding
a little video of Cooper riding ~ Reagan's video wouldn't load
So excited to be on the boat
 they couldn't go fast enough
the water was a little cold, but they didn't seem to mind
Greg, Gigi, and I jumped in the water too!
 Time for ice cream
We finished the night off with fishing

Weekend at Bubba & Gigi's

We made the trip to Tennessee this morning to visit Gigi and Bubba for the weekend!  We visited Bubba at his lawnmower store before heading to their house for dinner and then on to Menchi's for dessert.
Cooper thought he was the bee's knees on the big lawnmower!
they pretended to have lawnmower races
Won't be long before she's driving one of these for real
When we got to Gigi and Bubba's house, Cooper found the old ATV they had - he hasn't ridden it since he was a year old!
We had dessert at Menchi's ~ always a crowd favorite!

Special Treat

We have been having thunderstorms all week, but tonight's storm left us with a little treat!

Reagan and Cooper couldn't believe there was a rainbow in the sky!
This was the first rainbow either of them had ever seen
there was actually a double rainbow, but it is hard to see in the picture

Rabbit Chase

This morning as I was washing dishes, I saw something running across the yard out of the corner of my eye.  I assumed it was a cat, but I've never really seen any cats in the neighborhood ~ so I thought I must be imagining things.  Then a few minutes later, I saw it again.  I walked outside and noticed that it wasn't a cat, but a big rabbit.  I thought to myself, that is an awful big wild rabbit.

I looked over at our neighbor's house and noticed that the lid to their rabbit cage was open.  Uh-oh!  After 20minutes, I finally found their cell phone number and called Mr D to let him know his son's rabbit had escaped.  While I waited for him to get home, I was the animal whisperer of the neighborhood ~ keeping and eye on the rabbit and trying to keep Lucy the dog away.

Mr D finally arrived home and the chase began.  We must have chased the rabbit for 30minutes before catching it and returning her to the cage!  I'm sure all of the neighbors thought we were crazy running around in the wet grass (him in a suit and me in workout clothes!).  But, the rabbit is safe and sound.

When the son got home from school, he brought me flowers for letting them know the rabbit had escaped and keeping it safe.

aren't they beautiful?

McTeacher & McStudent

Tonight, one of our local McDonald's restaurants held a McTeacher night to raise money for Reagan's school.  The teachers helped out by cleaning tables, sweeping the floor, getting napkins, etc for all of the patrons.  Reagan's teacher, Ms R, was the "trash jammer" for the evening.  The placed was packed ~ I think the school raised a lot of money!
Reagan was so excited to see her teacher!

Bridging to Brownies

This afternoon, Reagan's Girl Scout Council held their "Bridging Ceremony".  Reagan was one of four in her Daisy troop who will move up to Brownies.

Cooper wanted his picture made before we left
the girls were asked to wear their "Sunday Best" ~ I think Reagan picked out a beautiful dress
waiting for her turn to walk across the bridge
 crossing the bridge
receiving daisies and a brownie from her troop leader Ms Bond
when we got back home, I let the kids play in the sprinkler
They had such a great time playing in the sun and water ~ we're ready for the beach!!!
