Whoa ~ SNOW

The weathermen called for it, but I have to admit that I didn't believe that it would actually snow and stick...in December ~ that usually happens in February or March around this part of the country. But the snow came, and came, and came. Here are some pictures of our day.

Riding home after lunch at the mall. Just a few flakes at 12:30pm
Wondering what she's supposed to do now
"Do you see that one?"
Fun in the SNOW
trying to make a snowball
He chased snowflakes all over the yard

2:45pm ~ a dusting of snow
It's beginning to get deep out here!
5:00pm ~ 4.5" of snow
Too bad this didn't happen a week later so we could have had a white Christmas!
7:45pm ~ 6.5" of snow

We should have a fun day tomorrow playing in all the snow that accumulates overnight! Stay tuned!

Cancelled Field Trip

Today should have been Reagan's 1st field trip of the year. Her class was going to the mall shopping, to eat at Chick-Fil-A, and then to see Santa. But the weather had other ideas. School let out early today because of snow in the forecast, and alas, no field trip for the class. Unless you are my daughter and have been excitedly talking about eating Chick-Fil-A at the mall for over a week ~ I couldn't break her heart. Since it was only raining at the time school closed, off to the mall we went for lunch and a carousel ride.

We ran into Ms Connie and she agreed to have lunch with us. We thought we'd see other disappointed classmates there, but we didn't.
Cooper enjoyed his spontaneous field trip Reagan (with a mouth full of food) was "so excited because this is so awesome!"
On the merry go round ~ she covers her ears until the attendant rings the bell to start the ride!
Now she's all smiles!
Cooper is not in to riding the horses, so he and I sit in the old man chair
Horrible picture of the two of us (rain is not my hair's friend), but every now and then I needed to prove my kids have a mommy

Keepsakes

A few weeks ago, Reagan, Cooper and I went to a pottery store so they could paint/decorate their own pottery. We picked up the final pieces earlier this week ~ and here are the results...

a plate to hold Santa's cookies
Reagan's Joy to the World ornament. Cooper's ornament ~ all the dots are his fingerprints
I got this ornament at the Christmas show last month, but hadn't posted a picture of it yet. This may be my new favorite ornament (purchased, not made!)
