Photo Shoot

Reagan and I had a little photo shoot yesterday after church. I was taking pictures for her graduation invitations ~ unfortunately, the tooth incident happened before the photo shoot and she didn't give her best smiles...she was too afraid her "tooth hole" would show. I still got some great shots, but which one should go on the invitation????

Lost

While at church Sunday, Reagan hit another milestone ~ she lost her 1st tooth! She was eating a Rice Krispie treat and it just fell out. Literally. Onto the floor. She was hysterical, not wanting to loose any of her teeth because "the ones she has are just fine". the tooth was lost, never to be found. We thought it may have gotten thrown into the trash in the wrapper, so Greg gets the trash bag out to go through it. There must have been 20 or 30 people (some of whom I didn't even know) on their hands and knees looking for a little girl's 1st lost tooth. It really was like looking for a needle in a haystack. Reagan was devastated that she lost a tooth and wanted to hear nothing of the Tooth Fairy or getting a new big girl tooth. Finally after what seemed like 20 minutes a sweet man, who I don't even know his name, found Reagan's tooth.

The missing tooth
Look how small this tooth is!
Reagan didn't want her picture taken of her new smile. She would cover her mouth when she spoke and wants no mention of the "event" that occurred at Jesus' house. She even asked us to put a sign on the front door telling the Tooth Fairy not to stop at her house. I finally convinced (well, bribed) her to let me take one picture. Daddy made a special trip to the store for Jello Pudding Pops for his little girl's big day!
I think the new smile is just as beautiful as the old one!

Happy Mother's Day

Mother's Day began Friday when Reagan and Cooper brought hand-made gifts home from school for me. Reagan has told me "Happy Mother's Day" for 3 days ~ and I love it each and every time she says it!

Reagan's gift was a Mother's Survival kit
A Snicker for when you need a laugh;
A piece of string so you will have just a little more length when you reach the end of your rope;
A rubber band so you can snap back when you are stretched a little too thin;
Confetti so you can remember to have fun;
A paper clip to hold yourself together when you think you are falling apart;
A Lifesaver for the times when you feel like you're drowning in too much work;
A puzzle piece to remind us that we are each an important part of the larger picture;
A coin to remind you that you are valued;
A Hug and a Kiss to let you know you are loved!
Cooper's class took a sweet picture
Mommy, I love you for all that you do.
I'll kiss you and hug you 'cause you love me too.
You feed me and need me to teach me to play,
so smile 'cause I love you on this Mother's Day!
Sunday morning photos

After dinner tonight, we went on a bike ride around the neighborhood

It was a perfect Mother's Day with my 2 perfect kids and terrific husband!

Like all Saturdays, today began with gymnastics class for Reagan, then to "Old McDonald's" for lunch, followed by naps, play time, and then the family took me out for Mother's Day dinner.

Walking on the beam

Skin the cat
Cooper snuck out onto the floor and tried a little gymnastics himself
He conned dad into playing ball with him!

Playing video games at Old McDonald's

After lunch and while Cooper was taking a nap, Reagan and I flew her kite

While I didn't get any pictures of our Mother's Day dinner out...trust me, everyone who was in the restaurant with us knows we were there! That's all I'm saying!

Show Us Your Life - Baby Names

Kelly at www.kellyskornerblog.com has a "Show Us Your Life" post each week. I thought I'd join in this week. She asked how you chose your children's (or future children's) names.

Greg and I wanted names that were not common (so there wouldn't be 6 kids with the same name in a class), but we also wanted names that weren't too unusual (no unusual spellings and names that wouldn't be hard for everyone to pronounce). I was also concerned about initials and monograms (mine was TLC growing up!)

Reagan didn't have a name until it was time to be discharged from the hospital...the nurse came in insisting that we name her so we could take "Baby Girl" Sandidge home! I had wanted to name her Presleigh (had heard the name on the radio about 5 years before she was born and just loved it & could use my middle name Leigh). When Greg saw "Baby Girl" Sandidge, he nixed Presleigh because she had so much hair and even sideburns that he said she looked like Elvis and that would be all he could think of when he looked at her! Greg's favorite name was Macy. Not mine.period.end.of.story. So back and forth we went, finally agreeing on Reagan Leigh. Reagan~because we like it; Leigh~because it's my middle name too!
Cooper was a much easier for us to decide on. We had found the name Cooper in a baby naming book while expecting Reagan and just held on to it. We knew he would be Cooper James from the moment we found out he was a boy. Cooper~because we like it; James is both of our father's first names (although neither go by it).

It's A Bird, It's A Plane

It's Cooperman!!

Since the last several posts have been dedicated to Reagan, I thought Cooper deserved his own! He wore his hooded bath towel from the time he got out of the bath tub until he went to bed. He played peek-a-boo and ran around as if he were superman!

More Birthday Gifts

Reagan doesn't just have a birthday, she has a birthweek!! (I think we all need to take lessons from her!) She received another gift this week from Baby Alex.

She didn't want to mess up the bow
but, she had no problem ripping open the paper!
What could it be?
a ladybug plate with her name on it!
After she opened the gift, she said, "oh baby Alex is so sweet. It's just perfect!"

At the BAM Birthday Pool Party Sunday, Caleb Brown was baptized. His dad Frank performed the baptism and it was such a blessing to all of us to be part of this special celebration
