Taking It To The Streets

Once again this year, our church didn't do the annual fall festival but instead "took it to the streets" in the neighborhoods. We passed out candy and grilled 400 hot dogs~giving them out to neighbors and visitors ~ with no strings attached. Thanks to everyone who helped us grill and serve our neighbors. It rained all day, until 5:30pm (the exact time we were scheduled to begin grilling). Our weather plan was to grill in the garage, but God was so good and allowed us to take it to the street literally! The rain held off until we had given out our last dog ~ again, God is so good!

Getting the party started
Out on the streets Carly giving away a hot dog
Ronnie and the one that got away!
The streets were busy all night
Best costume of the night ~ when asked what he was, he replied, "the boy who rides the ostrich". Of course, how could we not have known that!

Even in the drizzle, the hot dogs must be given away

Again, thanks to our friends for coming to help out in our neighborhood ~ 400 hot dogs given away in less than 3 hours. No telling how many trick or treaters we actually had. Special thanks to Gigi and Bubba for coming to help with Reagan and Cooper ~ keeping them occupied/entertained/bathed while we were serving our friends and neighbors.

Trick Or Treat

It started out as a rainy day on Halloween, but by the time we were ready to go trick or treating, the rain had stopped. Reagan and Cooper had a great time going door to door and getting a lot of candy.

Overheard

No pictures today, only cute conversations I've overheard the past few days.

Reagan (trying to console Cooper): "Do you want Daddy? Do you want mommy? Do you want Bubba ~ he's your best friend"

At home sick, Reagan was drawing on her magna doodle: "I am awesome. I am so awesome. This is an awesome circle!"

Reagan asked for spaghetti for dinner one night. I boiled some noodles and put jar sauce over it. She refused to eat it. The next night, she asked for spaghetti again, this time from the restaurant. Once it arrived she said, "Now that's more like it!"

Again asking for dinner Reagan said, "you better hurry and get me some food before I disappear!"

We were watching Mickey Mouse and the letter "S" came on the screen. I asked her who had a letter "S" in their name and she said "Sam" (a friend at school). I asked her who else had a letter "S" and her reply was, "I do! Sandidge has the letter "S". I'm the perfect girl for a letter "S"!"

After going trick or treating at school, I let her have one piece of candy on the ride home. She chose a KitKat bar. When she finished she said, "I just love that chocolate, don't you mom?"

Halloween Care Package

Reagan and Cooper received a Halloween package in the mail today from Mamaw & Papaw. They were both excited to see what was in it!

Opening it up
Cooper had to take a look too

He thought the bubble wrap was a toy too!

Thanks Mamaw & Papaw! We love you!

Haunted House

We didn't visit one, Reagan decorated one! She had a great time and kept saying, "this is awesome, this is awesome!" She is quite the decorator/baker and I hope that her skills will make me many desserts in the future!

Let's get started
Notice the crown in her head. She won it at the Fall Festival and has worn it every day since ~ to school, to church, in the bath...you name it, she wears it!

So cute!

Painted Pumpkin

We had bought 3 pumpkins at the pumpkin patch last week, so tonight Reagan painted the last pumpkin. Ms Deb & Ms Kim came over for a visit (and to help get some energy out of Cooper) and Reagan wanted to show off her artistic skills.

A Princess & A Pirate

Tonight we decided to carve, um decorate our pumpkins we got last weekend at the pumpkin patch. We (I) decided to go with the "Mr Potato Head" type decorations rather than carving. I don't think Reagan and Cooper realize that pumpkins can actually be carved, so what they don't know won't hurt them (at least this year)!

Cooper needed a little help from daddy
He decided to wear the container and kept saying, "hat, hat"
